Winemaking and Ageing: Parcels of this wine were matured with French and American oak. The fruit was crushed and destemmed prior to fermentation. Post ferment the wine was then gently pressed before a brief contact with oak giving a subtle influence on the finished wine without dominating the varietal fruit characters.
Vintage Conditions: The 2008 vintage was warm to hot, with a pro-longed heatwave in mid-March. However, grapes picked before the elevated temperatures were delivered to the winery in pristine condition, resulting in good varietal definition and balanced flavours
